What is manual therapy?
Manual therapy is skilled hands-on treatment in which the physiotherapist moves your joints and works on your muscles to reduce pain and restore movement. It includes joint mobilisation, soft-tissue release, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques and assisted stretching.
Hands-on care gives quick relief and makes it easier to perform the exercises that keep you well in the long term.

Frequently asked questions
Is manual therapy the same as massage?
Manual therapy includes soft-tissue work but also specific joint mobilisation and techniques based on a clinical assessment.
Will you 'crack' my back?
Not necessarily. Most of our techniques are gentle mobilisations, and any technique is used only with your consent.
Is manual therapy enough on its own?
It works best combined with exercise and advice.
